Eh, you're all talk. The moment you have to walk through that line you'll piss your pants and grab a picket sign. Lol

He ain’t going to physically walk through no picket line, the best he can do is to collaborate with management who will sneak him in cowering in the back of a package car. The ridiculous part of his naively is that he thinks no one will find out except management, that will the worst of it. Forget about his fellow union members who hands are tied if they find out and they certainly will, the scabs worst troubles will be with their management teams, who hate snitch’s and turncoats more the rank and file. Go on cross that picket line and answer that phone when management calls... if you agree to their terms they will know they have their “punk” for life, you might as well quit because you ain’t going nowhere with this Company and Union.

There won't be any work for you to do. UPS forced non Union clerks to come in during the strike. Told us coming out that their was no work. Just another mind game. By the way there was no retaliation against them.

No such thing as a “non union clerk”, they call them “Office Management Specialist” now...That changed after the strike. Most of those non union clerk positions were eliminated when they purged the Customer service and HR departments. Some were negotiated into the Union, but not many. Fact is that they were easy targets for “Transformation”, low fruit because they did not have the means to fight these corporate downsizing decisions.

The overwhelming majority of full timers didn't even bother to vote last time. Now you all are going to have some major strike? Yeah...okay.

We will work 12,18,24 months without a ratified contract and then everybody will get excited for the back pay check and vote yes.

I'm predicting $20 bump and RPCD gets eliminated

Same way all the FTers know that PTers don't vote.
What do your sources say about how the Teamsters transition is going?? Looks like they are going to be putting a large amount of resources in the package division… and considering they haven’t yet named a director says they are really thinking this over IMO….I personally think many people are going to be surprised when they take over in a few weeks…

I've heard a couple things some good some not. Hoping for the best planning for the worst. I've been on the calls and looking forward to the next one.

My true hope is that this new group finds a way to get the younger generation involved. Though that kind of falls on the locals.

Our local is likely the worst in the entire union. They are great at eating chicken wings and pizza though.

If you don't have 3-6 months emergency savings, change your diet to beans and rice until you get it there before the contract expires. It's good to have for other life events like cancer, surgery lay-off etc.

The way it is now when you retire and reach 65 years of age you go on medicare; which has nowhere near your current benefits (drugs dental etc.)! Why not negotiate to keep current family health insurance for life; like they do at John Deere? Labor is in demand and has the upper hand for now!

Your retiree insurance becomes a secondary to medicare. Kinda like an ultra-premium part B.

Edit:
But, as with all things, I'm sure it depends on where you are.

Because retiree's are below the Part time work staff level when it comes to contract negotiations. The current working people could care less about retiree's. At least that's how it is here.

In my local, when we go on Medicare, we can purchase a supplemental policy for about $100 a month. Covers everything after Medicare and we have no out of pocket costs.

I would even support O'Brien raising our Union Dues in order to boost our weekly strike pay benefits just in case (which stands currently at 5 X your monthly union dues) also put pressure on whoever is running our Health and Welfare plans. Currently Team Care has a surplus and have stated that they will provide Health coverages if it comes down to a work stoppage, things are changing now with what is happened to our economy and the War in Ukraine so stay on top of things. So make sure you participate and (Vote)....

Save at least 3 weeks provisions and savings before the deadline, get out of debt and get your house together. Notice the events overseas to what happens when you show any form of weakness and not be able to provide any determent if things go south. No excuse for those that come to a gun fight with a slingshot.
