My point was that the IBT will not negotiate for anything that takes away wages because if wages go down (to pay for the 10 sick days), dues would go down.

Paid sick days.... would be compensable.

Just the same as vacations, option days, and paid Holidays.

Nice try.

Thanks for playing.

I don't get your point ...
Those are currently compensable under the UPS/Teamsters contract but they are not under FLSA.
As such, they are part of the financial package of the contract.
So the question is:
Compensable as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)?
or
some jargon you use?

No extra cost? But UPS made multiple billions. Didn't they just raise their rates? And take away non-union pension? So I'm sure they have a little extra scratch to do both.
When was the last time you analyzed Retained Net Earnings of UPS?
It's not getting any larger ... I'm pretty sure UPS had more reserved funds in 2003 than it does now.
BTW, I no longer own UPS Stock and would not advise any UPSer (other than required) to own any (no more than 5% of one's net wealth.

I love where your head is at!! Nice job!!
ACCRUED SICK TIME! Love it!
Accrued means that the funding has to be earned or reducing other compensation of equivalent value.
Don't try and use 'big words' and then spin their meaning ... I'm way beyond that level of thinking and analysis.
