Having a mild case of the flu or a severe case of the flu means one still has the flu! One has the flu or doesn’t! End of argument.

What you are continuing to fail to understand is that saying someone has the flu or doesn't, that's it, is about as useless a statement as you can make, almost to the point of meaninglessness. Saying someone has cancer or not is the same. Saying it over and over again does not give it more meaning. If your doctor tells you you have cancer, what do you do with that information? You ask questions.

"What do I do?"

"What are my treatment options?"

Imagine if the doctor answered "you either have cancer, or you don't, end of argument."

I guess you would just have to accept that, because "End of argument."

Should we treat all flu cases the same? Hospitalize people with the sniffles and those who develop pneumomia? Or send home unconscious patients and tell them to eat soup? Flu or no flu, that's it. Ha!

Are you claiming cancer is a virus too?

Some viruses can cause cancer. Is there a meaningful difference between that fact and saying cancer is a virus? Probably, but don't ask jack, he'll just say you either got it or you don't.

Yes, you cant have treatment if you’d don’t have cancer. The doctors first step is to find out if you have cancer or not. Very basic. If you do, you go for treatment, but it’s already been determined you have cancer. You either have cancer or you don’t!

And it's the same treatment for all cancers? Because, you either have cancer, or you don't, end of argument. No different kinds of cancer, no different stages of cancer development. One size fits all, one treatment plan for every cancer.

Again, in order to get cancer treatment you have to have cancer. So the doctors finds out if you have cancer. Not sure why you keep referring to treatments. Once again you can’t have cancer treatments if you don’t have cancer. One has cancer or doesn’t. Very simple.

I keep referring to treatments because they exist. And the fact that there are different types of cancer, different stages of cancer development, different treatments, all means it's not very simple.

Let me try to put it in terms you can understand. When the teacher tells you to pull out the red crayon, and you pull out brown, she tells you, "no jackie, the red one." You don't look at her and say "I either have a crayon, or I don't, it's that simple." The reason you don't respond like that is because it is insane. It denies the even low level of complexity involved in color differences between crayons.

It is not, nor will it ever be, as simple as cancer/no cancer, flu/no flu.

Once again, one is either immune to something or isn’t. One isn’t partial pregnant, or partial cancer.

The experts disagree with you...again. Partial immunity exists and is a real thing.

Jack is not using the definition the rest of us are, however.

He can use any definition that he conjures up. We are talking about partial immunity to an infectious disease. He says there is no such thing.

He is correct that you either have COVID-19 or you don't, but he is incorrect to say that you cannot have partial immunity to COVID-19, or any other infectious disease. The infectious disease experts say he is wrong.

Once again, one is either immune to something or isn’t.

There’s no such thing as partial immunity, you still have the illness!
