You have no idea what you’re talking about that is not a defense for violating company policy and damaging customers packages and giving a bad name to the company you represent. Being in the union does not give us a right to do that, we are professionals.

We have progressive discipline for such items, but if you lose a multi million dollar account because of something like this you’re got a problem.
We have a guy sitting to see if he gets his job back right now for similar.

Told a multi million dollar account to go to hell (the stories don’t quite match here… lol) and that he wasn’t waiting for them to finish packing their pickups.

Division manager fired him. I’m sure he’ll get his job back, but he really needs to think about what he did.

Well @bacha29 was defending him would’ve had him fired by now lol

Honestly in cases like that, a lot of the time your best defense is to apologize, admit wrongdoing, and ask for a chance to move on.

As soon as you start to make excuses or blame others, you can just feel the attitude change from the labor manager.
Yep, making a bunch of excuses in a situation like that tends to make things worse. Like you’re going to go out and do it again if you get in a bad situation and don’t know how to handle things.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

Gotta protect the brand image.

Perhaps by changing the color from FDX purple to UPS brown I might finally be getting through to somebody.

If Dana White was truly working entirely in the capacity of a private citizen only he would have taken the video to the employer and the employer only keeping it an in house matter only which is the only place where it belonged.

Buy oh no, instead he broadcasts it to the ENTIRE world. Why?....Because HIS market is a global market and what he has demonstrated here is that there is nothing he won't do to better serve HIS market.

His message is quite clear....."I'm going to do whatever I want....until you stop. me".

Very similar to what Alex Jones got away with for years....until somebody made him pay.

Once again you're still thinking that everybody works under the same rules you worked under during all those years at UPS. Unfortunately that's not the case and another example of just how truly unique the labor situation is at UPS. And if the person White saw was in UPS brown do you think White would have been dumb enough to film it and use it in the manner knowing who he would have had to contend with?

And if he did the Teamsters would had the perfect defense by pointing to the obvious fact that White was not acting as a concerned citizen but had undoubtedly saw an opportunity to create a video solely for the purpose of better serving his own individual market.

And in order to better serve it's market the contractor was ordered was ordered by to fire the worker or face being terminated himself.
You should contact that poor downtrodden ex-employee and offer to represent him yourself.

Pro bono, of course.

Are you a licensed, practicing attorney with a juris degree who has taken the bar exam in one or more states? Yes or no? If the answer is no then I suggest that you quit embarrassing yourself with your strictly layman's knowledge.
I’m not a licensed practicing attorney. I’m also not a certified ASE mechanic, but I know what a dipstick is.

Just when I thought I was getting through. Company policy and corporate image yada yada yada. Nothing to do with it. It's about intent. That worker was being filmed without his knowledge or consent with the footage obviously used to enhance the NIL of Dana White for the purpose of enhancing his business profile.

FDX has plenty of box cops out prowling . It did not need Dana White's assistance. If it turns out that the only way FDX found out about it was via the White's online post rather than it being forwarded directly to FDX only that is an action White might be called upon to answer.

If this happened to me I would definitely be seeking redress and I'm quite confident you guys would all be doing the same.

Given that this is sadly the most insightful response you have to offer I suggest that you might not want to bother. Hopefully I got you and the others past the old UPS mind control about policy, image, and whatever else you are conditioned to think and focus on Dana White's motive for making that video without the knowledge or consent of the worker and the manner in which he used it.

Oh, you’ve had plenty of insightful responses. You’re not intelligent enough to understand them.
Nobody including Dan White needs consent of a worker to film them in public. And his intent is unknown. Looks like he thought it was funny to me. Had the driver been working professionally there wouldn’t have been any problems at all for him. Instead he chose to be unprofessional in public. There is nothing to redress.
