This year was a mandatory work day. Next year will option. 8 hours, Plus 1.5x for working.Optional or mandatory? I thought only a few locals have it as an optional day now

Wow....I'm surprised.....I figured ups would never give that up once they had it mandatory......is that just ne or did everyone go back to optional? This year was a mandatory work day. Next year will option. 8 hours, Plus 1.5x for working.
Not a concession in my mind, if they're gonna make us work that day anyway I would prefer to have another optional to use at my discretion. Having said that I don't see any change to the language regarding that issue in the Atlantic TAAtlantic supplement: 8 hr holiday plus time and a half with a guaranteed 8.
Steward said new contract for next year takes away the holiday pay for an additional option day. Another concession in the "best contract ever".

The only helpers that get any holiday pay is the regular part time employees who go out as helpers.
