I had a customer wait on me until I was done with lunch at a restaurant before.
He said it would be rude to interrupt me while I was eating.
You must be from the South.

You won't actually work an extra hour. It's still the same number of paid hours. Company does not care about unpaid time since we are not moving any cardboard during that time.
I'm not skipping my lunch to work an extra hour.
If ups management loves when people work through lunch and the union hates it.......why?It's still the same number of paid hours. Company does not care about unpaid time since we are not moving any cardboard during that time.

I'm just curious what people's opinions are on thatSeriously?
I'm just curious what people's opinions are on that
if I take 5 minute I put that in the board.
I agree.....I bothers me sometimes because people who work through don't have to break off for savers or comm stops so they get done faster and makes everyone else look like they can't do the jobTake your full lunch and break.

And if your in a commercial area you are helping eliminate routes
How do you figure? Either way I have same number of stops and packages to make service on. And since I don't deliver on unpaid time I'm not giving them free labor. How am I taking work away from someone?Cove is right.
And ours is opposite. It gives the driver the RIGHT to take up to one hour unpaid. It does not force the driver to sit for an hour off the clock when he does not wish to.warning letters get passed around here a lot for not taking your full meal..
per contract Southern region
The employee shall be entitled to and required to take a meal period of 1 hour. Failure to take and properly record the required meal period may be cause for disciplinary action.
So the assumption is that sitting off the clock for an hour will magically make an hour of work disappear?
How's that work?
Never said that.
If the 8 drivers all took lunch between the 3rd and 5th hours UPS would be forced to add a run.
What the hell is a 5 minute lunch?
Our center requires you take and record an entire hour before you punch out skipping not allowed. It's the coming trend so enjoy getting home early and getting paid for the portion of lunch you skipped while you can because it will end.
Bull $$#... Them days are overNever said that.
