That's true though. In my building....almost all members of management higher than PT sups enter through the feeder gate and park in the yard....they don't go through security.

The manner in which he took his own life (by gun) is irrelevant.
What matters...is the UPS corporate culture that caused this man to become so overwhelmed that he felt that suicide was his only option.
As far as "security" goes, there is no realistic way to prevent someone from bringing a gun into the workplace if they are determined to do so.
