They have a sht ton of experience building them too.
You also have to wonder to yourself what is the used market going to look like for EV’s? Is someone really going to spend a bunch of money on a car They have no idea how the battery was taken care of? Some of these cars, the price of the battery makes the car almost worthless if you have to replace it.

At least with a regular ice vehicle, you can do a Carfax and maybe see what kind of maintenance was done on it as far as oil changes and what not. With an EV you’re just hoping.

They will have terrible value as used vehicles. All the losers that bought them, will find out.

Whatever you plan on spending on a warranty, just put it in a savings account and add to it for repairs down the road. You’ll be better off.
Today’s vehicles are very reliable if you buy the right brand. Maintain them properly and they will last for many years. I had an Acura for 11 years. Regular maintenance, never had a single issue.

I agree a long time ago, 100,000 miles was a very large amount of miles nowadays if I know it’s been taken care of. I have absolutely no problem buy one with 100 K on it.

You really need a car in the States but unless you make good money it's a real burden to own a car. One way or another it's going to cost you. I'm throwing in the towel. Going overseas where I can easily.get around without a car. Honestly what's the point of living in the States if every penny you make goes to just keeping your nose above water? I know where to go where going out to eat is as cheap if not cheaper than cooking at home. $2-$3 meals. $5-$7 international food meals. $300 and cheaper a month for very nice, new apartments. Very good, stable internet. Can get by very comfortably on $800 a month. Life is too short to.deal with people who are always looking to get more and more out of you.

I have the means to own 2 cars, own a couple houses and eat well. I don’t have to eat happy meals. But I get where you’re coming from. I’m not convinced you’re wrong.

There are some people with limited capabilities that can’t figure out simple personal finance.
Yet, they are experts on every subject ever conceived.

I was actually surprised at the price of refurbished batteries for Priuses. Not bad at all. Probably totally different ball game for fully electric vehicles though
