What are your respective definitions of a "wage slave"?
A person with no enjoyment or satisfaction in his job. She feels no loyalty to nor from her employer, does not see advancement as possible nor even something to strive for. A wage slave is going through the motions for a pay check and nothing more. It is exactly what corporate executives want from 95% of their workforce but won't admit outside the boardroom.

Someone who lives paycheck to paycheck, barely scraping by, with little or no hope of improving their lot. Keep your shirt on bb I was just joshing. But then, I'm not sophisticated, what do I know?

I'm serious. This really is the corporate oligarchy we live in.

Just telling it like it is
You are Fedex wage slaves with no future. I don't see how you rate or could comprehend sophistication.
Yeah Scammy we know, you're Ground and you're glamorous.

And you're too cheap to pay your employees a decent wage. And then what do they do? They leave and get hired at Express.

And live to regret the move. I am straight forward with my drivers. Is Fred straight forward with you?

Fred's not straight forward with anybody except upper management, influential politicians and his buddies at the country club. By the way he's not my manager either.

So you let your drivers know that you aren't going to pay them market rate nor are you going to offer them benefits of any kind?

And as a former employee of UPS, you can sleep at night knowing you're purposefully underpaying your employees?
Of course. I can't pay what I don't have. If I can't get enough from Fedex to pay UPS wages, how would I pay them? Besides, they are free to go to UPS or FedEx if they can make a better living there. That's an avenue closed to me.

Why do you stay with a company that not only underpays you but continues systematic "takeaways"? How do you sleep knowing you have no future with such a company?

As I have said here before, I live in a depressed area. There aren't many jobs so you keep the one you have until you find something better.

I stay with FedEx for my family, despite the take away's, ect. This is where we have raised a family as well as mine and my wifes families all being here. It would be unfair to my kids to move them away from everything they have every known as well as away from their family.

I have my line out and believe me, the second something better comes along, I will be gone but until then I will stay here for the sake of my family.
