Can someone explain to me what these numbers are in the National? The pensions are all different in every local. What are these figures?

Hopefully it goes up more because I don’t quite qualify this time.
Fingers crossed for ya brother, we all deserve a nice parting gift on the way out the door after dealing with so much after all the years we put in here.

I myself have a few years part time and 33+ full time driving, and I'm 56 now.....so things are looking good and I'll more than likely be hopping off the carnival ride soon. My local supplement most often has a few more perks over the national, so I'll take a wait n see approach on that.
If I'm not mistaken I think they usually make you wait it out til January 1st so they don't have a lot of seniority guys bailing before peak. No biggie there if that's the case.

Good for you. Military guys put in 20 years to retire. You put in 33+.

As discussed before, it’s a very curious offer does that mean it goes away next contract?

Everything goes away next contract. Everything is up for re-negotiation. There is never a guarantee that contract to contract, wages, pensions, general working conditions will be kept, or increased, in the next contract.

I do find this clause curious. It almost looked like they intended to bump it up to $5300 for anyone waiting until July 21, 2028 to retire. But with the wording, UPS could also be trying to cut costs and try and get all the higher seniority drivers to retire before the end of this contract and then replace them with $23/hr new hires in a 4 year progression.

They could be bluffing and saying to retire now, because next contract, you won't see this $5300. Although, I don't agree with that. If they continue to make money like they always do, I see that figure going up at least another $500 next contract.

Correct and that was what I meant by that comment it was written in a way that almost feel like they are trying to get people to leave.
