Five Step Progression for FX Truckers

A guy who was a courier at my station left about three years back to become a company semi truck driver. I spoke with him today about pay rates and he said FedEx changed the way big rig drivers advance in pay. They have a five step progression instead of 10. This is because they couldn’t retain their drivers under the 10 step plan. Big duh there.

Doesn't matter how many steps there are if the advancement up the scale is at the whims of corporate...:wellduh:

Yeah, they changed that a few years ago.

Since the company doesn't always give step raises it will still take longer than 5 years to top out as an RTD. Didn't they eliminate one of the steps at DGO a couple years ago and it is now a 9 step? Doesn't everyone start out on step two now in DGO?
