Georgia Governor Kemp Is Catching Hell for Re-opening

Much like the vaxxers, why should your reckless and irresponsible behavior negatively impact me?

Dear Media, Governor Kemp Will Accept Your Apology Now

When Governor Brian Kemp announced that the state of Georgia would make the initial steps toward reopening the economy, the media went on the attack. He was called irresponsible and it was predicted Georgia cases would skyrocket.

Also-ran Stacey Abrams jumped into the fray as part of her audition for Joe Biden’s vice presidential slot. She called Governor Kemp “dangerously incompetent” during a national media appearance with Gayle King. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms also called the governor’s plan reckless and the media trumpeted warnings of a second wave.

Well, the results are in and the media can now apologize for the savaging of my governor. Since the tentative reopening on April 24, the state has not seen a spike in the percentage of positive cases or hospitalizations. Kemp and his team are measuring this correctly.

Someone I know went to a care center with strep throat this week. They didnt test her but told her to quarantine for 14 days and had her sign a document that she had the coronavirus even though she wasnt tested. She called the local health dept and they made the medical facility bring her back in and swab her cheek. The test turned up negative for the virus after all that and she returned to work. She didnt have a fever, only sore throat.

So what's the deal? Skewed numbers and lying medical providers reporting "confirmed" virus cases without testing.

This is a butchered mess.

My neighbor's wife is an ER nurse at the local hospital. He said they are doing the same exact thing here. People come in with the sniffles and they "discharge" them with a coronavirus "diagnosis" and tell them to go home and self-quarantine and suck on cough drops for 14 days. Don't worry though. Mitch and Nancy will take care of everything.

It is allergy season so most people just have typical seasonal symptoms.

I saw the media today trying to spin reopened states as having flareups . I think thats the script now. If you have one city in georgia that has a flare up then the whole state is a failure

Cool story bro.

Inordinately Right
Your article says according to the CDC Georgia's available ICU beds rose from 21% on May 6th to 29% on May 12th.

So you're saying Kemp made the right call?

"Georgia’s intensive care unit beds were 79 percent full on May 6, based on data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As of Tuesday (May 12th) the CDC reported 71 percent of Georgia ICU beds were full."

I'm saying nothing of the sort. I can tell that it is too early to tell.

The article sates that there may not be enough ICU beds by August.
It might be close for 'existing' ICU beds (around 2000) but a study that GPH did back in March said 8,000 can be added with existing infrastructure as needed. They have already put the plans together and the National Guard would build it out.

Note: "The CDC data is based on a nationwide survey of hospitals and does not include every institution ..." (From the link posted by Sporty)

Stacey Abrams is a fat-assed lying Miss Piggy!
Since the reopening of Georgia, we’ve seen our COVID rate skyrocket 40%.

meter-false.jpg

  • Stacey Abrams said after reopening, Georgia’s COVID-19 rate went up 40%.
  • In fact, the number of cases fell 12% compared with the same period before reopening.
In an interview with Mother Jones, Abrams said if she were in the governor’s mansion today, she would have handled the COVID-19 crisis totally differently.

"I wouldn’t have led Georgia to be one of the last states to shut down, and we certainly wouldn’t have been one of the first to reopen," Abrams said in a May 7 interview. "Since the reopening of the state, we’ve seen our COVID rate skyrocket by 40%."

Abrams’ statistic is wrong.

Under Kemp, Georgia was one of the first states to reopen businesses.

Between April 24 and April 27, restaurants, gyms, beauty parlors and a number of other kinds of businesses began to welcome customers, so long as they followed rules to keep patrons separated and took other measures to prevent infection.

In the 12 days before April 24, when Kemp began easing restrictions, Georgia had a total of 9,695 confirmed coronavirus cases.

In the 12 days after (which coincides with Abrams’ interview), Georgia reported about 1,100 fewer confirmed cases, 8,549.

Overall, comparing the two time periods, cases in Georgia decreased 12% after the reopening. They didn’t increase 40%.

Gov. Kemp Extends COVID-19 Order, Addresses Long-Term Care Facility Visitation

Kemp cares about his Senior Citizens unlike Cuomo!

Governor Brian P. Kemp signed Executive Order 09.15.20.01, extending current COVID-19 restrictions and issuing guidance for long-term care facility visitation. The new Executive Order takes effect on September 16 at 12:00 AM and runs through September 30 at 11:59 PM.

Under Executive Order 09.15.20, there are no changes to the mandatory restrictions in place for the operation of businesses, including food establishments, bars, cinemas, bowling alleys, salons, barbers, cosmetologists, amusement parks, live performance and event venues, childcare facilities, etc. The local option for requiring face coverings, subject to specific criteria, remains in place.

The shelter in place provisions for people who live in long-term care facilities and the medically fragile remain in place. The Order also continues to include a large gathering ban of fifty (50) persons unless social distancing is maintained.

The Order adds new language to clearly authorize community and state ombudsmen to perform inspections at long-term care facilities and - subject to specific criteria and restrictions outlined by the Department of Public Health - allow long-term care facilities to conduct in-person visitation in accordance with the DPH Administrative Order titled "Long-Term Care Facilities Reopening Guidance."

Should I still wear a mask after getting vaccinated?

Yes. Experts still need to learn more about the protection the vaccines provide under “real-world conditions,” the CDC says. It could take your body a few weeks to build up immunity after the second dose of a vaccine. And while the Pfizer vaccine is effective at preventing symptoms of COVID-19, it’s not yet clear whether someone who’s been vaccinated can still catch the virus and transmit it to others.

“It will be months before the general public is vaccinated,” Gov. Kemp said last month as the state began offering vaccinations. “We must continue to wear masks, wash our hands and keep our distance. I’m asking everyone to continue to hunker down and do a few simple things for the next few months.”

The vaccine is just one tool that can help slow the spread of the coronavirus. The CDC says it could take months for the population to build up immunity and continues to recommend preventive measures such as face masks and social distancing.

Georgia governor announces phase one of reopening businesses - April 20, 2020.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced the first phase of reopening businesses in the state. Kemp said the shelter-in-place order will remain in effect through April 30.

Gyms, fitness centers, bowling alleys, body art studios, barbers, cosmetologists, hair designers, nail care artists, estheticians and their schools, and massage therapists can reopen on Friday, April 24, Kemp said.
However, the governor made an important note that the businesses allowed to reopen would not be back to "business as usual."
"These entities will be subject to specific restrictions including adherence to the minimal basic operations, social distancing and regular sanitation," the governor said.

Kemp said the minimal basic operations include, but are not limited to:
  • screening workers for fever and respiratory illness
  • enhancing workplace sanitation
  • wearing gloves and masks if appropriate
  • separating workspaces by at least six feet
  • teleworking where at all possible
  • implementing staggered shifts
From Facebook: If YOU think we are ready to open the state back up because of your “rights” or “freedom,” you are sorely mistaken! YOU clearly haven’t witnessed the amounts of human beings dying or on the brink of death. I will gladly let you walk a day in my shoes and let you SEE and FEEL how haunting my job has become. When literally, my EYES, may be the last thing a patient may see bc everything else is covered. Your hair can WAIT. Your nails can WAIT. Your project can WAIT. Your (insert) can WAIT. I work at the busiest hospital in the STATE of Georgia and I can assure you this, our resources are growing slim....
