They’re all “Local Market” grocery stores so there are no TVs stocked. WalMart wouldn’t open full line stores because they demand real estate TIFs and only pay minimum wage.

Yet somehow there are a bunch of Target stores in Chicago.

Chicago is weird about grocery stores. They love Jewel.

I have no doubt the issue is crime. But to say WalMart is blameless is wrong. They don’t adjust for the market well.

Seriously though, even if Chicago was very low crime WalMart would struggle there. The residents are just so dialed in/conditioned to shop at Jewel Osco.
