Ok, Harry. The wife bought a smallish flat today, and it looks like nobody else is coming tomorrow for Labor Day.

Ribs are off the menu, brisket is on!

Decided to try my make shift smoker last night.

Used Szeged rib rub plus a chipolte rub from Quaker Steak and Lube.

Added some mesquite smoke.

After about three hours of smoke, time to wrap and add butter.

After a couple of hours of low and slow heat, time to sauce and add a side of asparagus in olive oil with cilantro.

So good these guys came by for a look.

I'm the only one at this house that will touch asparagus......they look yummy. I use a similar veggie cooker for all grilled veggies.....watch out, the handle gets hot.
