Exactly my point. The NFL is 1500 guys where no one else can do what they do. They might technically be employees, but when your employer can't go out and just get any other person trained up to do the job, the dynamic changes.
top 1500 guys ... regardless of their real talent.
There are at least another 5000 who can do what they do.

They put players on the field during 2 strike seasons in the 80's. Less than 2% of college football players go pro, which means that there are a lot of guys who could get a shot. After the draft there are thousands of undrafted players just looking to get a shot. Teams can get players no problem, maybe not the same talent level but they can get them.

agreed, There are players who have special talents in that league. For the rest there is little difference between those that make the squad and those who didn't.
