Hate Calling In Sick When I Am Really Sick.

I used to hate calling in and using an option day, burning it for something like a casino trip, then actually getting sick 3 days later and not wanting to use up 2 days in 1 week. Not that I ever did anything like that in my career. lol.

im not contagious sick. I pulled a muscle or got a joint out of whack or have a kidney stone or something that makes me feel weak in the groin area. I thought package drivers may have had similar symtoms from time to time and could give me feedback. have been out of package since the 90's.

I like to use a sick day for a 3 day weekend to have fun. I only call out sick 1-2 days a year because im actually sick. usually pretty healthy from exercise and vitamins. have the maximum or close to it in my sp bank. which is 43 or 44 out of 45.

yeh i dont like bangin out when im actually sick, just doesnt seem right using a sick day when im sick, theres just something magical about calling in pretending to sound raspy when in actuality i just wanna catch up on homeland

What do they say when you call in? Do they try to talk you out of it or just let it be...

I almost never got sick from contact with co-workers. Drivers spend most of the day by themselves away from close contact with other people. Inside employees have more contact but usually not that close unless someone is coughing all over everyone else.

I few years back we had a part time female pre loader who had a lot of personal contact with a full timer driver in back of a package car during peak. Funny thing is they both were married at the time.

One of the good things about working the preload at my hub is if/when I have to book off there has not been someone there to answer the phone so all we have to do is leave a message
