Everyone see's the money raises but overlook what is being taken away.
I think that many part time employees quit because of the long wait to get a good paying job. In a center near ours the wait is almost 14 yrs!

We put a stop to the management allowing ft drivers to work on their vacations (not p.o. weeks) and they had to advance two more drivers into permanent full time positions this year.

We're doing our part.

The company and the union leadership knows who votes and who doesn't.

Only if you tell them.

And then.... a lot of people BS.

The only thing the IBT knows.... is the % of every Local.

The company knows the percentage.... because TDU.... rushes to post it.

Having that knowledge.... where do you think the company "turns their attention" ?

If you ever go down to the union hall as an observer, you will see. They have a list of all the eligible voters. Then they bring the ballots in. They check your name and barcode off of the list. Then the open the outside envelope and place the unmarked one in a box.

For Local elections.

No one can record or make lists with (any) sort of means.

Does the independent firm then hand that list over to the Union?

No.

They keep the (physical) property for 1 year.... and then it is destroyed.

We had several drivers that the company knew would work through their vacations and factored it in their manning.

That's over. I am happy to see those part timers get to go to school and fulfill their hope of finally getting a chance to a career that pays a living wage.

They don't quit because of the long wait. Most only work a few weeks or until break and walk out it has nothing to do with the imaginary 14 year wait. There are part-time employees that are going driving with less than 6 months seniority. I'm sorry I know I should have known it's Hoffa's fault.

Some drive early in some buildings. Very few in percentage here.

The "imaginary" wait is qualified in your mind only.
Like I said, one of our local's buildings has had a 14 yr wait. The work ethic of that county is top notch.

It's been that way for a long time.
Why do you blame Hoffa?
