Work ethic and wait time to go driving have nothing to do with one another.
Work ethic has much to do with commitment and loyalty and going to work even if it sucks.

If you have the promise of a high paying job if you stick it out it helps.

If you spend years in college and spend thousands of dollars to complete your degree on the hopes that it'll pay off in 4-5 yrs it is a great indication of your quality work ethic.

These are all good points yet I fail to see the correlation between work ethic and the wait time to go driving.

Commitment. That's an attribute of a good work ethic.
There's other factors, I understand, but in our area kids are raised to be committed to your employer.
When I was offered a job at ups I told the center manager that I needed to give my employer a 2 week notice and he looked at me like I was from outer space.

I figured that one out all on my own.

Local 89 had 3 tries to get it right. They voted no 3 times, thinking that by doing so they would be able to keep their healthcare, which everyone knew from the start was not going to be an option. The IBT realized that putting it a 4th vote would change nothing so they did what was right for the majority and imposed the contract on Local 89 and, guess what-----Teamcare is not nearly as bad as everyone thought it would be.

.... And TEAMCARE IS NOT NEARLY AS GOOD AS WE WERE PROMISED!!
