Starting wage is a waste of time.
I was talking about surepost abuse. We don't have Access yet.
Sure post has greatly improved in our buildings. A close friend delivers to a large postal hub. He says the packages are just smalls in bags. I think it's a situation of a work in progress. Some things are trial and error.

They had 120 days after ratification. What year was that? OH yes, last year by around July.

But if you were breaking the contract to benefit yourself I don't think you'd get months and months to comply.

Um.... contractual language ?

Section 4. Technological Change

1. Technological change shall be defined as any significant change in equipment or materials which results in a significant change in the work of the bargaining unit or diminishes the number of workers in the bargaining unit.

That's a very astute observation....

For all the "new" management candidates.

You are missing the point of the question I asked you "BUG". My question contained a PREAMBLE that you failed to understand, and you simply pointed to current language.

The preamble said "If the Teamsters allow the company to forward packages to delivery center..."

If the teamsters have already agreed to allow the "forwarding" of packages to the UPS store, or delivery centers, then, that door has already been cracked open.

Who's to say, that the Teamster leadership wouldnt continue to give away the store and open it up for direct delivery of packages to delivery centers and make cutting routes that much easier?

You have NO knowledge of whats being considered, negotiated or planned by either the Teamsters or the Company.

It takes 225 pieces to kill a route. We are currently delivering to individual post offices blown out package cars with postal packages.

Routes are being cut because of this missing volume, and if you think the Teamsters will leave the door partially cracked open, then you dont know anything about this company.

And the goofballs.... from TDU.... have a better "inside track" on what's happening.

Got it.

What does that have to do with me? Furthermore, what does that do for your mis understanding of the question?

All those thousands of packages being diverted to the post office is already having a major effect on the number of routes run in the centers. Yes, UPS is in business to make money, but we are in the business of protecting our futures.

The current administration has in the last 8 years, given the company a ton of concessions with the blessings of the current locals, and the effects are just being recognized by the membership.

We had the same language (Section 4. Technological Change) in 2008 and look at today, OSII and OSIII packages going to the post office.

Without any serious regulation, UPS is sending larger and larger packages to the post office. The Teamsters have done NOTHING to stop it. In what was suppose to be small bags and packages less than 10 pounds, this surepost has grown into furniture, carpets, omaha steaks and such.

The company's excuse?

"well, we cant tell the shipper how to ship packages"...

So much for your "Section 4. Technological Change"

Hoffa and co. have simply allowed the company to divert thousands of packages out of the package division and into postal trucks. The next step is obvious.

Skip the package cars alltogether and get the packages directly to the UPS store or delivery centers upon "customer request".

Get back to me when you lose your route for the "I told you so conversation"

That "contract" your hold dearly, is a worthless pile of crap when it comes to technological change.

The Teamsters have become paper tigers, along with the likes of yourself.

It wasn't TDU who told me that the p.o. can deliver our surepost pkgs to commercial customers.

It came from the IBT Pkg Division.
It seems "clear as mud" language is being fought over in the trenches.
I wonder why people just say "screw it, it won't change"...?

You should discuss it at the TDU convention in October. What's the shakedown cost again?

Reliability and customer service is what makes our workforce great. Ups is attempting to take the skill out of your job, and extorting our customers with" if you want consistency order air" , the mom and pop businesses will drop us if surepost subcontracting and "orion" has its way

"Again"? You've been there before?
Evidently you must know.
I don't know about or plan to frequent that so called convention.

Your worn out tdu default escapism is a joke.

I know some ex TDUers. They have said that the convention is just information readily available but the kicker is the double donation. You pay for the event, then during said event TDU "suggest" an additional donation amount. Scam.
