If the union wants or needs more money they just have the delegates go to Las Vegas, on our dime, and while there being wined and dined they are asked to vote on issues such as this. This is exactly what happened when they added the $11.00 "strike fund" charge that we all pay monthly. I believe the assement for dues is to be either one and one half or two hours straight time salery. They added $1.00 then another $11.00 because they needed to. It has always been they only get if we get. Now they take when them deem they need it.
Our local does a golf outting, & fishing trip at a cost to the member less than actual. They have a Christmas party for no charge. They serve beer at the monthly meetings on Sunday morning. These to me are all unneccesary. Cut my dues and worry about big brother. Don't have these petty things that really mean nothing.
