How prepared is your center for peak?

They're lack of planning doesn't constitute an emergency on my part.

Pretty much this. Only one temp that's shown up this past month is still around. That's it.

I thought all driver helpers were suppose to be able to use DIAD's?

Use a Diad? Half of them get lost between the truck and the front door.

Obviously some of these new guys,wont be able to handle peak. They should just use some of them,as a glorified helper.
Put 2 guys,that can use a DIAD ,in a truck for a full shift.

Then have somebody shuttle more packages out,in the rental trucks.

My belt would be at Defcon 5........5 new drivers added and not one of them can do a full route......they have been trained for at least 5months

They tore up half of our bays, and are adding on to our building. So basically we are friend'ed all around.

Yes they already have those "UPS villages" set up on property

Not sayin that...if they can't do the job, at any age....go work at the mall gift wrapping presents. They hired a seasonal loader last year in his late 50's...a retired cop...he was better than most. But they got rid of him after peak...injury liability I guess.

I think I would rather have a 55 year old that knows how to work than a clueless 22 year old trophy generation slug that has no concept of hard work.
