If regular drivers are making 100k easy regular joes are beyond toast.True but if the union can't win in that department this kind of leverage available then I don't see this being a great contract...

OG’s tipped out a long time ago. Skeletal remains of watered down muscle fiber are what’s left.In order to combat the use of scabs by the company, you need to be more militant. They will not stop unless you show solidarity. The union needs to police the members.
Sad, but true. The company divided us.OG’s tipped out a long time ago. Skeletal remains of watered down muscle fiber are what’s left.
Years of tech harassment added up. Guys are just trying to pass their DOT’sSad, but true. The company divided us.
We need our pensions to be funded and managed responsibly. Otherwise I say end it and give me a 401K match instead.Hopefully we can stay ahead of France 2 year pension adjustment. Nearly 1 Million French People March Against Raising Pension Age 2 Years
What would you propose happened to the money you’ve already invested by way of pension credit? We need our pensions to be funded and managed responsibly. Otherwise I say end it and give me a 401K match instead.
You need a little bit of bothWe need our pensions to be funded and managed responsibly. Otherwise I say end it and give me a 401K match instead.
I would say do a direct transfer into our 401K. Make the amount proportional to years of service. After that have a 401K match equal to the amount the company would have contributed the pension. What would you propose happened to the money you’ve already invested by way of pension credit?
I’m sure Legally impossible, as well as orphaning people already retirees.I would say do a direct transfer into our 401K. Make the amount proportional to years of service. After that have a 401K match equal to the amount the company would have contributed the pension.
Good point about the retirees. I’m sure there is a way to make sure they get their fair share after all those years. Maybe there is viable option other than what I described.I’m sure Legally impossible, as well as orphaning people already retirees.
If UPS paid me instead of paying a pension fund, I could get far better return on that money. It’s the same argument for socialism, that most people are too stupid to make decisions for themselves, so we need an educated elite class to make decisions for us. We don’t.You need a little bit of both
Unfortunately most people have very little clue when it comes to investing
Unfortunately it's never going to happenIf UPS paid me instead of paying a pension fund, I could get far better return on that money. Probably not. At the very least I would like to see our pensions run better and see better language regarding how money is contributed.Unfortunately it's never going to happen
That ship has sailed way before our timeIf UPS paid me instead of paying a pension fund, I could get far better return on that money. Yeah and it’s sinkingThat ship has sailed way before our time
Central states just got their lump sum. It should be good for about 30 years. The people in charge need to figure out a way to turn the losses around because in 30 years they’ll have the same issue.Yeah and it’s sinking
More contributions and smaller payoffsCentral states just got their lump sum. It should be good for about 30 years. The people in charge need to figure out a way to turn the losses around because in 30 years they’ll have the same issue.
Well the multi funded pension killed usProbably not. At the very least I would like to see our pensions run better and see better language regarding how money is contributed.
Deregulation of the trucking industry killed union jobs too. RTW scab states also.Well the multi funded pension killed us
Back in the day UPS was paying less than everyone else when the trucking industry was going strong.
Now many of them companies are gone and we are paying a lot more than existing companies that are in the plan
