my kids have a halfway decent job did not have a pension plan
Most companies offer a 401K match, which UPS does not. That alone is a 100% return on investment. Take USAA for example. The offer $2 for every dollar you contribute. So if you put 4%, the put in 8%. That’s a 200% ROI off the bat.
Yep. This is their toxic attitude. Work until 70 at the same time life expectancy in the United States is declining. Better to do that than lift the ceiling on Social Security taxes for people making over $160,000!

It's bananas! Too many of our countrymen have been successfully deeply propagandized.
It’s another government scam, just like the lotto. Let’s trick the poor and middle class into giving us their money with the hopes that one day they will make it big. Meanwhile your chances of winning the powerball is less than getting struck by lightning twice. Who keeps the money? The government does. Even if you win, they keep a third in taxes.

Social security, who keeps the money when they raise the age and most people die before they see a penny of what they put in? The government. Because they’re the ones that mishandle all the money they steal from us, leveraging debt up to their eyeballs until they hit the debt ceiling. Then they raise that.

We don't get a 401k match because we get a pension not too many other private companies offer them

Forgot about declining life expectancy and raised threshold combo. Good take.

Pension I assume= punch me? “Free” $ at a young age gives you more options to diversify your employment at YOUR leisure. This option with retiree medical makes you a unicorn.
Or did take the time and spend a few bucks to talk to financial advisor this past summer, he gave me many different options

Some retirees at the Christmas party / union meeting and had a chance to pick their brain

Basically the retirees told me you will know when you are ready, enough know it can be a little bit scary.. They all said 2 important things.

One you need a plan to keep yourself busy and active.

Two. You can live on less than you think.

The financial advisor basically laid out a plan for me if I wanted to walk out the door right now.

Also explain to me how much exterior of two of pension and social security benefits can add up over your lifetime.

Can you explain last paragraph? I want to make sure I’m reading it right.

Fido

Don’t worry he’s friendly
Not scab if they pay union fees. Union negotiated temps. Want to limit period of use, Thanksgiving thru Xmas? Fine by me.
Surprised they don’t offer inside workers options to deliver out their own vehicles
