You forget the Republicans didn't take power in the House with the power to subpoena until early this year. The Oversight Committee is finding proof.

The House is "investigating" only because they have a majority. They're finding allegations, and no proof. Protect Trump, bring down Biden's polling numbers, and create false equivalencies for the many criminal acts of their Orange Jesus. Y'all thought you had Trump on a quid pro quo charge but Joe is on video leveraging a billion in aid to get Zelensky to fire a prosecutor who was investigating Burisma for corruption. Upon further review you will see that the two (1 unnamed) IRS whistleblowers admitted that there were jurisdiction and venue issues along with the fact that 2 outside US attorney's looked at the evidence and offered the opinion that there wasn't enough to tip the scales in favor of a conviction.

Often the focus shifts more toward getting the taxes owed paid than taking a long shot at a jail time conviction.
The IRS in and of itself cannot prosecute. Only the DOJ can prosecute tax fraud cases on the basis of evidence the IRS provides them with. And given that the testimony of the 2 IRS whistleblowers and the mystery informant even if he does exist and can be brought to the US would be grilled under intense cross examination by the defense.....the DOJ attorney's came to the conclusion that it wouldn't hold up.

Remember, the DOJ went to the Biden team with the plea offer. Not the other way around. Why would they do that? It would appear that the odds of a conviction were not in their favor.
