I'm in a bad situation. So here it goes. I'm a 10-year driver with UPS. In all the years I have not had but one write up. I've never called out sick, I come to work on time and I'm pretty high on the sonority.
I took my vacation week back in May where I took my fiance to Orlando. I had recently purchased what I believed was a CBD pen/vape that is completely legal to buy and use from any head shop. On our way down we are pulled over and I unfortunately was arrested for the CBD pen which unbeknownst to me contained THC. I was informed it was a felony because of the THC and I was arrested that day. I was released within 24 hours. I hired a lawyer who went to my first court date which was 1 week ago. As of Friday I was offered a plea deal. To have a felony charge non conviction. Unfortunately ignorance to something does not negate a charge. I accepted the plea and now have a court date in a week to see the judge which is out of my County about 3 hours from me where I'll post fees ect . I have yet to inform my employer that this issue had happened because I did not know what I was looking at just yet or what standing I'd be in.
Being as it is the end of the year I have no more option days and no more vacation time left. I am caught in a real bind I don't want to lose my job over this. My fiance is now 3 months pregnant. I don't know what to do with this. Should I inform them should I not? I don't want there to be an Integrity issue.do they really check up on things like this? If I do not inform them I would have to play hooky and call out sick so I can make it to my court date also yet again jeopardizing my job. As you can see I'm really caught in a bind I don't want to mislead anybody but I also don't want to lose my job over this. If I am honest with them and give them the information is there a chance I can be fired?
Please help. Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

No is not considered a DUI cuz I was not smoking it at the time. The only charges I got was a non-conviction felony for having the pen that contain THC but it it is a non-conviction just to charge basically but no DUI.

So are you saying you never smoked it? Just holding it for a friend?

I have a couple friend who practice law (both corporate) and they explained how this whole system works

To be dead honest, most lawyers goals are simply to strike a plea deal. Most of them are personally cool with the prosecutors. A plea gets the prosecutors numbers up, make the attorney look decent, and saves the state and attorney time and money. I was into some “nefarious” things many years ago and got to know 2 local criminal attorney who are absolutely amazing. Lots of people I know got cleared of charges thanks to them. The prosecutor would see their name on the case and drop the charges, or the case would end in court and end up not guilty after the attorney asked the officers involved a few simple questions. The same way we are expected to follow laws is how law enforcement should follow their procedure and protocols. They can’t do what ever they want and make bs cases where simple constitutional rights were violated.

I got caught with pot before and luckily both times i got off. First time officer found a nick bag underneath the passenger seat of my vehicle and the only reason i got off that because i told the D.A that i dont do drugs and it was not mines and the D.A told my lawyer that if i pass a piss test he dismiss the charge luckily i stopped smoking and passed. The second time i was smoking a joint in the park and someone called the cops on me and the cop found the joint i flicked away when i saw him walking up. He gave me a ticket and after that i had too take the first offenders program and they took away that charge.

When I was like 17/18 I saw a friend eat a pretty big amount and wash it down with gatoraid. It was hilarious. He didn’t “feel good” for a good half day.

I would come up with whatever bull story to tell my center so I could get the days off for court. I would not say a WORD to them about my situation while TCH was still in my system. I would wait a full 30 days before telling them, if at all.

You have a decent reputation in the center, use that to your advantage and play dumb/ignorant. You were a victim, some head shop guy sold you something he shouldn't have. You just wanted CBD to relax your aching body before peak right? RIGHT?

Dont think you can take the BS detox drinks either they dont work and nearly got me fired at my last job. Good luck

PS: weed vape pens still smell like marijuana. Sure some have subtle hints if flavor (Strawberry, Lemon, etc.) but it still has the aroma of weed. You can keep it real with us were not the ones you gotta lie to.

You will lose your job only if you go to jail and can’t work. I hope you got a lawyer if any jail time is involved try to work out deal to do weekends. If you don’t go to jail you will be fine
