We can look to Iceland for an example of how to handle the next crisis. In 2008, they jailed the bankers, let the banks fail without taking on their debt and put controls in place to protect the economy. They recovered more quickly than other countries and with less pain.

How did they do it? In part, through protest. They held sustained and noisy protests, banging pots and pans outside their parliament building for five months. The number of people participating in the protests grew over time. They created democratized platforms for gathering public input and sharing information widely. And they created new political parties, the Pirate Party and the Best Party, which offered agendas informed by that popular input.

UK heading in a socialist direction as Labour Party proposes employee ownership and decision making instead of capitalism.

He cites a report by the Institute for Public Policy Research, published last week, that floated ideas for giving millions of people “a greater stake and voice in their workplaces”, boosting productivity, morale and incentives. The IPPR said “the aim would be to give more people a share of capital and to spread economic power and control in the economy by expanding the decision rights of employees in the management of companies”.

Among the models being examined are ones under which firms would have to put a percentage of profits into an employee fund that would build up over time, giving the workforce, through its rising share ownership, an increasing say in key decisions on how the companies were run and managed. While workers would not be able to cash in shares, they could be offered dividends from the fund to boost their pay.

...And the claim was, after about 10 days, denied by a company called Sedgwick, which is Amazon’s insurance company for workers’ compensation. I was never given an explanation as to why it was denied. I requested it. They told me, “For various reasons.” I said, “Specifically, what reasons?” OK? And they said, “We can’t tell you that.” And they never gave me a medical examination to determine the extent of my injury, but denied my claim."

"...The deaths prompted the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health to place Amazon on their “Dirty Dozen” list for 2018. This list is comprised of employers that put workers at risk due to unsafe practices."

"OSHA is chronically underfunded."

"..AJA BRADLEY: It was weird, because it was my first day like on the job. And we were walking around, and this one boy, he was like, “Don’t work here. This is basically slavery.” And I think it’s just because it was really like hard work to do, so people—I mean, we were getting paid, so they were just like, “Oh, yeah, this is like basically slavery.”

haha you cant make this stuff up!

capitalism is also a really bad idea:

CBS News: Breaking news, streaming live, 24x7amazons-patent-for-caging-workers-was-a-bad-idea-exec-admits/

The AI researchers, New York University distinguished research professor Kate Crawford and Share Foundation director Vladan Joler, described the patent as a symbol of an "unevenly distributed dystopian regime," where the few at the top of the wealth pyramid live in "extraordinary wealth and comfort."

"But the majority of the pyramids are made from the dark tunnels of mines, radioactive waste lakes, discarded shipping containers, and corporate factory dormitories," they added.

a perfect description of capitalism: rich people exploiting their workers and other people

exploitation: me doing $20/hr value worth of work, but only being paid $10/hr by my employer.
in the case of china its me doing $20/hr value worth of work, but only being paid $0.21/hr by my employer.

workers whose labor generates a surplus (an excess above what the workers themselves get back out of their output for their own consumption)

exploitation is defined as an organization of production in which the people who receive and distribute the surplus are different from those who produce it. Examples of exploitative organizations of production include slavery (masters exploit slaves), feudalism (lords exploit serfs) and capitalism (employers exploit employees).

financial terrorist jamie dimon interested in running for prez according to trump.

if we lived in a society where big money doesnt control what people think, jamie dimon wouldnt be able to consider this because everyone would hate him, and he would be in jail.

The problem with banker Jamie Dimon running for President is that he doesn’t have the aptitude or “smarts” & is a poor public speaker & nervous mess - otherwise he is wonderful. I’ve made a lot of bankers, and others, look much smarter than they are with my great economic policy!

That’s YOUR fault. You don’t want to work. How can you save for retirement if you don’t want to work?
