the government could pass a regulation saying that at all jobs a card from michael hudson could be periodically given saying unions are statistically good for workers.

china has 12 high speed trains.

China Is Building 30,000 Miles of High-Speed Rail—That It Might Not Need

November 20, 2024

“It’s becoming a giant money pit. China has spent more than $500 billion on new tracks, trains and stations in the past five years, while the country’s national railway operator, China State Railway Group, is nearing $1 trillion of debt and other liabilities. Just keeping up with its debt requires $25 billion annually.”

——————————-

“The challenge for China is that high-speed trains are far more costly than alternatives, such as traditional trains or buses, which many economists believe are sufficient for much of the country.”

———————————

“All told, China State Railway’s liabilities grew to a record of about $860 billion as of September. The total debt tied to China’s rail expansion is even higher, since cash-strapped local governments are being required to bear many of the costs for new projects. Over time, maintenance costs will add up.”

———————————

“Zhao Jian, a scholar at Beijing Jiaotong University who’s critical of the high-speed rail build-out, has argued in commentaries that China is turning a blind eye to the system’s financial perils. He has said the country would have been better off only building a few thousand miles of high-speed rail in its most densely populated areas. Hundreds of billions of dollars could have instead been invested in traditional railways that can also handle freight, as well as on more research in areas like advanced chips.”

they have high speed trains that handle freight putting htem at an economic advantage over america's slow freight system

if you look at how quickly they expanded their public transit network, it puts north america to shame. we are so slow. if you can lower costs for labor like cheap transit, then you can out compete your competitors. musk said he was gonna build something on the west coast, and what did he do? nothing. our countries are awash in corruption especially yours. china now has higher life expectancy than america. and it seems like soon you may both be dictatorships, if jan 6 was any indication and some of trumps comments about not having to vote anymore.

Have any examples? I've never heard of a high speed freight train.

Sounds like it might just be a CCP national pride/empty GDP growth project. Much like China's many newly-built empty cities. It's not really something to be happy about if it's both unnecessary and has added nearly $1 trillion in debt to the books.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

Maybe it's time for you to change your news source if yours told you high speed freight trains exist and they don't actually exist.

China has a lot of high publicity projects that are for PR value. Like their version of Potemkin villages. Things outside the spotlight in China tell a different story.

taylor swift tickets reselling for 10 to 30x their original price

people are calling for regulation on the greed.
Regulation on whos greed? Maybe they should have a regulation on idiots buying them. 😂

Either way, a private seller reselling his/her ticket and someone paying for it. It is not greed.

Nobody is forcing them to buy the tickets. Supply and demand. If the demand goes down the price will drop.
