Democracy is not equal rule, if you vote a different way than the majority than you’re forced to do what they want it’s called mob rule.
The many controlling the few and there is no liberty.
theres a few different kinds of democracies. north america is a winner take all. other countries have proportional which is better.

its still one person one vote but then whats done after the votes are counted is whats different. ours is less democratic.
Again, that is not one person one vote so you do not believe in that. We have a republic here and it has worked well for a couple hundred years although some have said occasionally, the tree of liberty needs to be shaken

i dont think it has worked. only a few people used to be able to vote in america. more people were only able to vote over time because people complained about it. theyre trending to get rid of the electoral college. and we almost did proportional representation 10 years ago but trudeau lied and the right wing or left wing didnt have a trucker protest about it to make him do it.

i like proportional representation because like you said not everyone agrees and it forces the parties to come to a compromise.

I said it has worked well, and there were obviously shortcomings, and they have been addressed over the years and continue to be. There is no perfect system because there is no perfect humans.

There’s never been and never will be equal power. Human beings will never allow that.

“The Founders were explicit about their views on democracy, and for that reason, they looked hard, and found solutions that led to what we now call a constitutional republic. Our system may not be perfect, but it is one in which every voice can be heard.”

The Shays Rebellion led to creating the Constitution. They were rebelling against high state taxes, which under the Articles of Confederation the states had too much power and the central government not enough.
