the last 2 shows on democracy now were amazing, i caught parts of both at work. they were talking about the ideology of the far right wing in america like the koch bros, and today naomi klein was talking about how the american government will take advantage of a storm / terror attack / financial crisis and pass nasty legislation.

I'm sure you are the inspiration of the company. Any coop would love you on their board.
i would vote for better work life / balance.

with capitalism you just do what they tell you, and hopefully your union has their :censored2: together where guys can slack and keep their jobs. i didnt see that at UPS...

I've got 3 cars, I only feel they own me when I have to renew their tabs and insurance. The things I own help support my lifestyle. I am spoiled by UPS and this capitalist system.
you have no idea....

how much does UPS profit off of you per hour? wages adjusted for inflation have been flat since 1973. your not spoiled, you just have low expectations of freedom

You know, you don't need a job, if you think they're oppressive.

Mix some lemonade, put out a sign, and sit on a bench, and see if you choose to give the lemonade away, or, you know, make some sort of obscene profit.

You have no idea how much I profit off of UPSs assets. UPS pays all the expenses. I have very little expenses. They give me 310 hours (7 weeks) vacation, 40 hours in personal time, 40 hours sick pay. That is up to 9 paid weeks that I produce zero for UPS. Plus Cadillac medical, dental, vision at no cost. They also pay 20K into a pension plan at no cost. They also pay for basic attorney fees, and a little bit of savings. That is 2-3 times the benefits you post in your articles. That's why I say I'm spoiled.
Plus, since I am an employee, UPS pays half of my payroll taxes, covers workers comp, liability insurance, and supplies all my tools except boots, socks, and t-shirts.

ralph nader says workers are 2x as productive as they were 40 years ago. i thought i remember hearing that min wage should be $20 if it were tied to productivity from liz warren.

so no, i dont think you are getting a good deal, especially when the economy is weakening around you, how could you possibly be getting a good deal. plus UPS doesnt seem like it has a good union considering how hard the workers hustle. ive worked on certain railways where we went real slow, and the longshoremen have a good union.

UPS is having record profits, like many corporations.

when you defend capitalism, you are defending a system which gets tax payer bail outs like communism, you defend a system which give communism a run for its money in terms of centralization of decision making.

all previous economic systems had profits, not just capitalism.

Last time I looked, Ralph Nader doesn't live my life. And quite frankly, I hope he never has a say it it. $20 an hour is so 1998.

so basically you should be earning 2x as much per hour what you currently earn or more. but anyways liz warren also has youtube videos on this which you could check out. chris hedges was interviewing noam chomsky and he said the same thing.

and how many hours a week do you work to get that vacation?

plus you cant say you are a free person when you take orders all day long.

rickyb , just a little tale to tell .
On July 4th while working on hauling my lobster traps, I spotted some trash floating by, a mylar balloon . I picked it up and at the end of the string was a handwritten note . Which stated in English " In Memory of Stephaine Gaulart Call or Text 519-xxx-xxxx. Let us know where it lands. Let go in Port Elgin, On "
We texted and they replied "we didn't think it would go that far".It had traveled around 1050km.
From the Lake Huron to the North Atlantic .
