I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers on China. Their estimated oil consumption in 2007 was 6.93 million bbl/day (from the CIA world factbook). The Chinese government lowered their oil subsidy this year in an effort to reduce domestic consumption, so it seems unlikely that the numbers for 2008 will be dramatically higher. If you have a source that says otherwise I'd be interested to read it.

Diesel posted a website on one of the earlier posts that had a 2 year old source date on it. My point was that China is a big player and there increased consumption over the last 3 years is making an impact on the pump over here.
