Under international law asylum seekers are supposed to go to the next country, not the one several countries over that has wealth and bennies.

I've been safe everytime I've been there.
Here I am an old white guy walking around in Mexico. Ate at a KFC the other day after walking around the nice mall. The bullets whizzing by get a little annoying but you learn to live with it.
Ask all the people who get up every day and go to work at schools, supermarkets, malls, car dealerships, gas stations, airports, restaurants. I'm safer here than in many American cities.
