They've spent all day attacking the process in an effort to get Trump off because it's their only defense. What Trump did is an open and shut issue. Now when they stand before the Senate and butcher the character and reputations of career military and diplomats such as Taylor, Yovanovitch Vindman and Fiona Hill that's not going to bode well for Republicans in swing states. Moreover after seeing career military officers and state department officials who have faithfully served presidents of both parties for decades having their careers disemboweled in congress what kid is going to want a career in foreign service, taking entry level assignments for crappy entry level pay and housing and being sent to the most god forsaken places on earth to begin their service?
Who's going to be willing to throw their lives away doing that now?
