You are turning a blind eye to everything and coming up with ridiculous ideas about what’s impeachable and what’s not. The House gets to decide that.

and the house just set a political standard that will make impeachment as common as parking tickets

The House was supposed to interview all the witnesses to compile their charges, then bring the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate to begin the trial. The senators would listen to the House's case and decide. If the House needs more witnesses now, then they should take back the Articles from the Senate and finish their investigation.

What's ridiculous is the Dems are looking for any pretext to impeach. In the "Fast and Furious" scandal the Obama administration let thousands of weapons into Mexico, resulting in them being used to kill dozens, if not hundreds of people, including an American Border Patrol agent. Obama claimed executive privilege to keep documents pertaining to it from being released to protect Eric Holder. Was there an impeachable offense in there? Did Republicans go after Obama? Yet the Dems are grabbing at the slightest whiff of scandal to go after Trump. Pathetic.

I see you're back to the same "whataboutisms. He was a political minority president during most of his term in office. Why didn't the Reps do something then?
As for the current Senate trial. Trump's supporters in the Senate aren't even trying to disprove the evidence the House is presenting. Instead, they keep attacking the process because it's the only chance they have of getting him off and cover their own posteriors while doing it.

One thing that we can all be certain of and that is future presidents can do whatever they damn well please and if called on the carpet they will always be able to point back to the Trump acquittal and use it as political cover and license to continue to go on their merry old way in addition to using a "Mulvaney" to crush any efforts to curb presidential power.

The Republicans were afraid of attacking the first black president. Worried the blowback would cost them seats. But I think you've got it backwards. The current impeachment serves notice to future administrations that if they don't also control the House they had better tread very carefully. Because going forward if a Democrat president pulls anything close to "Fast and Furious" or Benghazi better believe Republicans are going to pounce. Warren talks about immediately eliminating student loans. Great pain to the banking industry. Impeachable. Open borders? That's treason, impeachable. You guys went down this road acting like the slightest thing is going to destroy the country. Better hope the Republicans will be a lot nicer to your guy than y'all are to Trump.

Fast and Furious was a botched operation. And I don’t remember democrats defending it either.

Because they weren't willing to completely crap on the Constitution like Democrats are.

Evidence of what, trying to stop Biden's corruption and expose Ukraine's involvement in election meddling? There's nothing to disprovee, he was doing his job.

"Control" the House? You're forgetting something here. The legislative branch is a coequal branch of government. The president doesn't tell the House anything including what to do as Trump is now discovering. And by the way if a Republican president did anything similar to what Trump is accused of doing along with damning evidence to back it up does a Republican controlled House not have an obligation to exercise it's constitutional duty regarding it's oversight of presidential actions? It would appear that you believe that they don't And once again the first thing you brought up regarding Barrack Obama is that he's African American . Try telling us now that you're not a racist.

Are you really that obtuse? Of course controlling the House means that the president's party is in the majority. And believe me a Democrat controlled house isn't going to try to impeach a Democrat president so why would you expect a Republican party to do so? It literally would have to be a Benedict Arnold situation before the same party as the president would impeach. And you demonstrate exactly why the Republicans didn't go after Obama. Charges of racism would be screamed just for suggesting he should be impeached. It's literally like a doctor hitting your knee with the rubber hammer. The knee jerk is automatic.

I don't remember Democrats criticizing it either. It was so botched that Obama and Holder CYAed by refusing to release documents. We're having a heated discussion where Democrats claim what Trump did was a threat to our very existence. Yet look the other way on things very serious like what the Obama administration did or Hillary having top secret documents on a private server, then covering that up. Should Republicans have impeached her if she had beat Trump? Because what she committed were multiple felonies. Of course not, she's a Democrat, Obama is a Democrat, Democrats are held to a different standard. It's ok for Biden and other major politicians to line their pockets through their relatives as long as they're Democrats or RINO's who play along.

Hahahaha!. Contrary to what you Republicans want to believe a member of Congress swears an oath of the constitution not to the president. In addition just exactly what hard public evidence do you offer that would support your claim that charges of alleged wrong doing on the part of Obama were not pursued by the Republican controlled Congress due to it's fear of being accused of being racists?

I peeked at the hearings again. Schiff is talking again. Or still talking. I don't know if he ever shut up. His antics are making it very easy for the potential swing Senators to vote against him.

Was widely discussed back then as to why the Republicans weren't going after him. And grow up, unless it's so egregious they can't ignore it the same party isn't going after one of their own. That's a pretty high bar for the Dems.

Widely discussed among who the KKK? Fox News? Discussing it all you want among political pundits is one thing. For an official from the GOP Congress or the RNC to put his balls on the political anvil and state for the public record that fear of the race card not the lack of actionable hard evidence was the real reason why they didn't pursue the matter is something entirely different. And I didn't hear anybody from that side of the isle say anything along those lines.
