Funny, you never said a word about the huge amount of unskilled labor positions that have and will continue to be eliminated by IT, AI and robotic technology.
Not 'funny' at all. Why do you suggest I am dodging a subject, when that particular subject has nothing to do with the subject at hand? That particular subject matter has nothing to do with excessive immigration. And if those jobs are being eliminated as you claim, then explain to me how advocating for excessive immigration helps anything?
the skills gap which is expected to get worse.
That's because employers would rather have their skilled and unskilled labor imported on a visa or green card and pay them less. Rather than train or hire a citizen who is qualified. That initiative needs to be eliminated.
Then again if as you say there's an oversupply of unskilled labor then why are wages rising?
Not remotely enough to keep up with the COL or inflation. Not for decades. Particularly very much in the area of unskilled labor.
Furthermore you fail to take into consideration the dramatically slowing US birthrate. The lowest since 1930.
In California that issue is, and has been MORE than supplemented by excessive immigration.
California is and has been ground zero for this problem for a very long time. This has profoundly and negatively affected every ordinary citizen who calls this state their home.
Metaphorically speaking: I am complaining of a bucket of urine dumped upon my head. And you are trying to tell me "naw, that's just warm, summer rain."
You live in the "Jing Weeds."
For you to opine on this subject in the manner you have is exactly like me trying to justify and explain to you how meth, incest, and crumbling shacks is somehow a good thing.
