Protestant Churches and the Nazi State
Consider the different ways that the German Christian movement and the Confessing Church movement navigated their relationships with the Nazi government.www.facinghistory.org
Not as delusional or dangerous as the belief of Judaism died on the cross with jesus.
Go look up how much of stupid leftism consumes right wing talking points in current events. Y’all don’t believe in that but criticizing it is fun and silly. You don’t believe in Jesus it’s OK, but it does seem to consume a lot of your time and thoughts. Just saying…..
I think you do have that right, The difference here is I didn’t throw any punches at you. nor did I say the “gay community” (whoever that is) threw punches at me. I don’t find people as monolithic groups. We’re individuals so I won’t lump everyone together. My experience shows that’s what leftist do.Go look up how much of stupid leftism consumes right wing talking points in current events. Y’all don’t believe in that but criticizing it is fun and silly.
That is what your religion is to me, another punching bag that I should have right to throw as many jabs at as I want as a gay man in a free country.
I’m a Christian sure. But do you think I feel this guy speaks for the Christian community or people like him?Go look up how much of stupid leftism consumes right wing talking points in current events. Y’all don’t believe in that but criticizing it is fun and silly.

You’re not a solid 1 Christian though who takes everything in the Bible from a fundamentalist perspective. You’re more than likely a reformer in your beliefs, as most Christians are for good reason looking at history and modern science.I’m a Christian sure. But do you think I feel this guy speaks for the Christian community or people like him?
Lol
I take the Bible very seriously, although I would agree there’s much I don’t understand, and the ones that say they do are not telling the truth. I believe being a Christian means being more Christ like, Grace, and mercy and love are the most important things. I need all three of those things myself, so does everyone else from each other, if you tell someone they’re a piece of crap it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Multiple chances at fixing our mistakes are part of the human condition and I believe Jesus Christ understood that. I also know hurt people, hurt people. There’s a lot of hurt in the world shame on all of us.You’re not a solid 1 Christian though who takes everything in the Bible from a fundamentalist perspective. He was aNot all reformation is bad, Martin Luther was a reformer. For his time he was quite controversial.
this is an opinion I can agree to disagree with and we can share a society because our overall beliefs seem to match up.I take the Bible very seriously, although I would agree there’s much I don’t understand, and the ones that say they do are not telling the truth. LOL I didn’t say I agree with Martin Luther I just said not all reformation is bad. During his time he was as hated as much as gays by some in the community. He was aing idiot, no offense. The only good thing he did was standing against religions he hated, but he even
ed up doing that.
Intelligent man for his time in some aspects, but also a hateful prick.
Take it from a hateful prick, I know them when I read their words.
this is an opinion I can agree to disagree with and we can share a society because our overall beliefs seem to match up.
I’m just confused as how god is needed in any of this. It isn’t. Societies bound by the Christian god or Muslim god or Judaism god do not have superior human nature over the ones who are not. Sure Christianity is the least hateful of these three but that isn’t much to write home about.
I think their are many more factors like education and childhood that determine “good” and “moral” human beings. Christianity can turn out scum of the earth same as any other belief in this world.
“Set fire to their synagogues or schools,” Martin Luther recommended in On the Jews and Their Lies. Jewish houses should “be razed and destroyed,” and Jewish “prayer books and Talmudic writings, in which such idolatry, lies, cursing, and blasphemy are taught, [should] be taken from them.” In addition, “their rabbis [should] be forbidden to teach on pain of loss of life and limb.” Still, this wasn’t enough. And that's why (us) Lutherans can look at catholics with righteous condemnation.
At least we can marry, have children, and not molest the congregation ?
I know my father is sorry. He is a good man. I don’t need any further explanation or feelings from him. Our business is settled in this world and I hold no hatred for him.LOL I didn’t say I agree with Martin Luther I just said not all reformation is bad. During his time he was as hated as much as gays buy some in the community.
And as Internet acquaintance who has no bearing on your life I would also give you my personal opinion that you should attend your father‘s funeral and even be there at the end of his life if you can. Not for him but for you. When my dad was on his deathbed 2000 miles away I did not want to go. He was an alcoholic and lived a selfish life in my opinion. My wife talked me into going. I was there for the last two days of his life and I felt nothing…… at first. The day before he died he snapped out of what was some sort of in and out of consciousness as he was fading away. He looked at me and said he was sorry and I could tell by his eyes he meant it. If I had not went there would not be that closure and I may not be who I am today. Even if he hadn’t said sorry I think I would’ve regretted not going. Just the way I feel about it.
True but in his later writings he was definitely anti SemiticNot all reformation is bad, Martin Luther was a reformer. For his time he was quite controversial.
Surely you don’t think blacks are the only victims of slavery?all you do is repeat the lying narrative of our modern day media. Ridiculous communist libs!“Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ”
Wow what eye opening insights found in the Bible, good stuff god thank you for that. Now what are all these blacks in modern day america doing? Why did we fight a civil war when slaves needed to really just fear and tremble and serve the white man as they would Jesus?
What a stupiding book and stupid morality.
But hey that was the people of the time.
How many Christians do you think were slaves? I believe the bible recommended slavery to pay someone back as a consequence of their actions, like if they stole something. And even then their masters were to treat them reasonably. Nowhere does it say to take someone and imprison them and make them serve you without payment. That is something democrats do, not followers of Christ. You treat your slaves well because at the end of the day they are still a human being and if their life is just complete misery they will kill you or rebel if your the cause of it.
You don’t have to be an omnipresent deity to look at the history predating Christianity and come to that conclusion. Just one of the few human beings that was literate and educated during those times.
