Local 804 Drivers Walked Out

jumpman23

Oh Yeah
All depends on what they were fired for. That's precisely the reason why the unity between brothers and sisters has gone down the pooper. House divided aint a good thing. Everybody has their own stance on it, and that much they have earned and are entitled to it. Just my opinion, but id stand behind my guys in my house in a heartbeat if I felt they were fired for a bs reason and the rest of our house had his back. True leaders don't leave a fallen man behind.

Several drivers in my building fired over the years. I wouldn't have walked off the job to support any of them.
If the wind was out of the NE at around 10 mph, I would have walked out in support of any of them in a second.
Half hour later you would see me pulling the Boston Whaler to Winnebago to slam the 'eyes on the west shore!

That’s Craptacular
As the stories flow through the building....correct me if I'm wrong, Maspeth guys......but the word around here is the house of 804 is divided even more since Liam cleared the building last Wednesday.

Well the drivers in Maspeth are more together than ever, and we support Liam. The house you talk of must be the Union Hall

Liam actions should not be put down this way. He gathered all of u and made a stand to show UPS and the other locals this harassment and unjust firing needs to stop. NOW we have to speak of the poor decision making of the members that punched in and stupidly went outside also and the 50 or so drivers that went home after knowing Lado and others was taking down names of everyone they saw outside. These drivers should have made better decision making

This Action will never hold up in dc/metropolitan area !!!! We have countless drivers setting up there stops for stop. Before they go on road!!! Don't believe all you hear. UPS is going to do all they can to cut cost and put less package cars on road but load drivers up with. Max stops!!! So we don't get to see our wives and kids grow up .

Couldnt have put it better myself. Liam's actions was a mirror of the growing intolerance of the harassment that we face on a day to day bases.

Could you explain how you don't support someone who got tired of the company friend** with us? You've been on record here on BC, criticizing the board of not stand up against the company. Now you still find a way to criticize Liam for his brave actions to show that the harassment has to stop...lol smh

Drivers come to work every day and go back home. I was not there but I saw the you tube. I didn't hear Liam tell anyone not to leave. He said it was clearly in the contract that he had the right to strike UPS if they violated the grievance procedure. He also said that they had to stick together and not go inside so UPS would get the message.

But he's wrong! Nowhere in the contract (both supplements) does it give him the right to do that!

He can strike if the company breaks a decision made by the National Grievance Committee, and only within a written notice of strike 72 hours prior.

He violated both contracts and also the National Labor Relations Act.

Liam getting fired for not maintaining SPORH was something that was never heard of. You'll never hear someone getting fired for production again. Liam at that time was arrogant, and I guess it rubbed the arbitrator the wrong way.

I can just imagine the look on the company's face when he walked back into the maspeth building as a BA...lol. A lot of grievances are being paid these days. He has a score to settle with the company.

His arbitration was posted online awile ago, I do believe he got fire for failure to follow technically.

Either way, don't listen to this TDU nonsense that comes out of this guy's mouth. He's a loose cannon.

I agree. Why in the hell with all this going on would someone punch in then go on strike? Amazing that's all I can say. What were they thinking. Now they'll have to go on strike again so these knuckleheads can their job back.
