I told him that this may be his only chance to ever see that part of the world and to take full advantage of the two weeks that he will be there.

He has an aunt who is originally from that part of the world who has told him what foods he should try and what foods he should stay away from.

I signed up for Skype this morning and we will be using that to communicate while he is there.

Skype is great for cheap international calls. I think its free if he also has a skype account there. If not skype to a landline phone is still cheap.

We skyped with my son when he was in South America for 6 months. Plan on doing it again this Sunday. Now he's in Southern North America.
