Is this happening where you live?
We live in a resort area where many people are 2nd home owners who use cleaning ladies, landscapers, other personal services etc. There is a lot of shaming going on on social media to keep paying these people even though there is a shut down order .
We still have a lot of people coming from out of town to visit Lake Tahoe with kids being out of school and tourists clogging up our small grocery stores keeping the shelves bear. Filling up the small ER's , still having parties at Air BnB's and more.
There are HUGE arguments online line about US vs THEM and how these out of towners should be kicked out , fined , or arrested.
Shaming going on for anyone posting about their trips to the big box stores for prescriptions and groceries yelling at people to STAY HOME! I went to Costco the other day just to pick up some prescriptions and it was a MOB scene. Noticed that people were driving a lot faster on the freeway and on the way home there was a 4-5 vehicle pileup which we had to sit for 2 hours while they cleaned it up.
No matter what you do people are involved. We want to have home delivery for scripts. groceries, take out but then again people are involved. And people are involved all along the supply chain. We were pretty much prepared for emergencies by having several months supply of groceries on hand and 90 day supplies for scripts. We won't be going out again unless this continues more than a couple months.
This public shaming has to stop. It serves no purpose but divide people and make matters a lot worse.
This crisis is bringing out both the best and worse in people. It's true what they say about character. True character is seen not when things are going well but when times are at their worse.
