Got no coffee this morning...it was both a Boniva morning and a bloodwork morning. Drank water til I was floating. It's not April Fool's Day, It's "drink water for Rita" day. Rita can never get a good vein, so I drink lots of water to help her out. I'd forget her name if I didn't sing the Beatles, Rita Rita metermaid before seeing her. It's my memory trick for her name.

Last time I had blood work done, I complained about not having my morning coffee. The nurse told me black was fine, no milk or sugar.

Power to the fluff!!

Rita told me that coffee constricts the veins and I guess I have really tiny ones.........you sure wouldn't guess that from looking at me.

Last time I had my DOT physical I almost failed because I had my morning coffee. The top number was 138, two points shy of failing. The nurse suggested we re-take it at the end and it was much lower.

if you didnt fail the first time why did the nurse want to take it a second time?

Because it was at the high end which meant I would have had to go for annual exams rather than every two years. She was actually doing me a favor.

I felt foolish as I should have known better than to have had coffee before my physical.
