I just read on MSN home page that researchers have developed a jet pack that allows soldiers to run faster loaded down with their back packs. Don't tell UPS about this new tech stuff.

On my island yesterday .
This rather large man & a small really white skinned woman stopped in their Prius to shoot some pictures on the rocky beach . Most of the pictures taken were of the pale looking woman topless . She looked like she has never been out in the sun .
I was with some fisherman friends on a pier nearby and we all had binoculars .
She was not pretty looking .

The NFL offices have to protect the NFL shield. When domestc violence issues come to light.
Atlanta has to protect the UPS shield when work place violence takes place. a

In a few weeks thousands of peak workers will be part of the UPS system. They will experience first hand how crazy UPS is, and they will tell they're friends about out.

Looks like it will be nice sunset. Time to go to the gym and ride the bikes.

The U.S. Forest Service has tightened restrictions on media coverage in vast swaths of the country's wild lands, requiring reporters to pay for a permit and get permission before shooting a photo or video in federally designated wilderness areas.

Under rules being finalized in November, a reporter who met a biologist, wildlife advocate or whistleblower alleging neglect in any of the nation's 100 million acres of wilderness would first need special approval to shoot photos or videos even on an iPhone.

Yep $75 for the last workshop I taught ... same price for 1 person as for a bus with 50 people on it.

What's the benefit of taking one of these workshops VS. following some reputable online guides? I will be getting into this soon as a hobby
Motivation, comfort in knowing where to be at a given time set up to capture the best scene, companions, which lens, polarizer, best friend-stop, etc.

On-line guides are fine for experienced photographers. I personally would suggest 1 or 2 instructor led.
I will take an instructor led workshop when I am out scouting a new area in which to offer a workshop.
I never pay more than $200 - 300 for a 3 day workshop. The $2,000 - $3000 and up workshops where you pay lodging, transportation, meals, etc. in addition are gouging.
Pick a local guide so you are not paying for their transportation and lodging.

Do you still use film cameras? Digital is much more convenient but in my opinion film is still the best. Film is harder to get the perfect shot though.

Digital for 99.99% but I still have my film Nikon F4s and some B&W film. I also have a Holga film camera which can be used for wet-plate photography.
The only people I know using film are shooting medium-format Hasselblads and then they scan the negatives into a digital format.
I run across some people here and there still shooting full format.
