Not saying ups is perfect but you also have to realize how much things have changed. Say my center has 30 drivers. A normal peak 8-10 years ago we might hire 2-3 seasonals. Many places just having no one on vacation was enough.


Now we are talking about running 50 routes during peak in the next 5 years or so. That's a big difference. It makes peak much harder to plan for.

There's people who's job that is to do...imagine if you failed miserably at delivering packages so many years in a row...what would happen

Saturday will soon be a normal full operations day. All of our competition delivers 6 in some cases 7 days a week. If you're ok with telling the customer to piss off and losing huge chunks of market share that's your choice.


Me I've got a few years left here and would like to see the company continue to thrive. Of course I don't want to work but I'm realistic and have seen that it'll be necessary for months now.

Our competition is fed and in bed while were still out delivering. How often do you see a Fed Ex guy past 8pm? We deal with much more volume than our competition.

The key to not working Saturday's is to run out of hours.
