B-Nastyness, I think your question was mostly answered in the posts above.

I just wanted to add- if you're working safely, then keep working like you are. The "methods" they cram down your throat are not total bs. But, the best judge of "working safely" is you. If what you're doing is causing strain on your back or other sensitive areas of your body, you may not be moving around safely. Don't let them trick you into ruining your body. <- same applies for porn interview

I've set a record of 19 minutes to unload a 100% feeder by myself.
What was in the feeder? 100 pieces of Vermont teddy bears? Because a 100% feeder usually has around 1200 packages. That means you averaged about 1.1 packages a second.
All Sounds douchy but ever since I started preload has been getting off between an 1 to 1 and a half hours early.
One guy does not make preload get off earlier. No matter how hard you work. What you're experiencing is peak ending and the slow season starting.
Is there any cases of Extremely Hard work overruling seniority in any fashion whatsoever?
Nope.
So I can honestly pace myself and not risk injury and still end up in the same place within the same amount of time?
Yep. Welcome to the world of unions..
This a good system. It rewards those who have put in the time and disqualifies based on inability to do the actual job, not just someones opinion on how you would do. It removes favoritism and the risks of it. It provides certainty that you will be treated fairly and protects from those who would do otherwise.
No it rewards people who have time in and time in only. I have people who make 15 bucks an hour who are barely worth half that and guys who work their tail off day in and day out who are worth double their pay.

OP, slow down. And I say this as a sup. You're going to hurt yourself. See how happy your management team is when they have a stack of paper work to fill out because you wanted to one up everyone. Don't get me wrong, good for you. Sit back and don't get too excited. Some sups will say anything to keep you at that pace and motivate you. It isn't impossible to drive after 6 months. But it is very very rare.

To be the man, you gotta beat the man.
I have only been at UPS for 3-4 months down here in Louisiana. Although I have worked at this same HUB in 2011 for peak season. I hate to be "that guy" but I am daily acknowledged as the hardest worker my bosses/coworkers have ever worked with. I've set a record of 19 minutes to unload a 100% feeder by myself. All Sounds douchy but ever since I started preload has been getting off between an 1 to 1 and a half hours early.

I'm only giving these details because today i was approached by the top dog in my center, and was told that there were going to be driving positions available and that he wanted me to sign the bid first(which the order doesn't matter i know). Anywho, he told me due to my drive and work ethic that he wanted to me on the road if I wanted to. Which is a hell yes! preload? 10$/hr?, 4 hours daily? I'd never miss it. He was also in my feeder unzipping bags while I unloaded like a madman. Which he definitely let the whole belt know, "THIS IS WHY Y'ALL GET TO GO HOME EARLY!". But this leaves me suspicious of my ultimate question...

Is there any cases of Extremely Hard work overruling seniority in any fashion whatsoever? Even if, which one of my good friend/coworkers told me, that I'd more than likely be a cover driver or drive air, then work my way up the ladder of seniority to FT driver? Or do you think that my boss just sees my hard work and tells me what I want to hear to ensure that i keep up the work ethic.

Won't quit UPS or be bothered by any reply so lay it on me. Sorry for tooting my own horn but it's important details.
First things first, UPS doesn't care if you are a hard worker or not. You should be working smarter not harder. The only reward you get for busting your ass is more work. So slow down and work at your own pace. I'm really not trying to be a jerk, but all the rookies come on here and say that, and honestly working hard at UPS doesn't matter. Second, sign the bid, keep up with it, it goes by seniority. If the trainer doesn't like you he can get rid of you. Sign bids, move up, pace yourself, the end.

Only seniority gives you the opportunity to try and qualify driving. I have seen where the Center really wanted a certain person driving but didn't have the needed seniority. They just disqualified everyone else in front of him. Or piled the work on until a person disqualified themselves.

What he said is true, this is how it works so your turn comes up faster. I believe it's what they did to get me in. I heard they DQ 30 ppl from inside in a row...hard work pays off. Good luck my boy!

I work fast, but that is only because I have college and would rather sleep before classes than get paid a little more. They are essentially paying me a salary what with the school benefits, I would rather work less hours than more.

Anyways, no amount of hard work will get you anywhere in terms of union, only sheer time spent in it. So just take your time with your job, I guarantee you aren't doing most of the unioners any favors by slamming the loaders with billions of packages at a time. Most loaders will just stack everything outside their truck and work on that for an hour and get out at the same time anyways. You are only killing yourself working fast.

You do not owe this company anything, the system in place rewards consistency, not hard work, and even then it pretty bad at doing that in this day and age.

I bet those 30 people who were disqualified have no clue how you passed them up. They sure wish you were never hired.

It is more important that you be reliable and willing to learn.

And never use the word "anywho" again.

Hello, Im a FT driver out of the Dallas HUB, I have a question regarding bids..............To start off, This would be my second year as a FT driver, two weeks ago I won a building wide bid for a route because the previous driver had gotten discharged....everything is going good, except two weeks into taking the route.....HR calls me for a combo job.....I then againg said yes..., then the day after HR disquilifies me for had taking the route a couple of weeks earlier, stating that I had to stay six months on the same route. Except all routes go up for bid in the center in March, does that make me elegible for the combos again?
