Need Help with a UPS Package from Ukraine

The UPS invoice you received will tell you what fees are UPS fees (brokerage) vs US gov't fees. Almost all fees are based on the value of the package that the shipper declared to US Customs. If they declared the wrong value, you'll have to decide whether to pay what UPS is asking and then try to get reimbursement from the shipper OR you can refuse the shipment and it will get sent back to the shipper in Ukraine. Since the shipment came from your family, you should have no issue working something out. UPS cannnot change the value of the item that was declared to US Customs.
We got a room full of intl packages waiting to see if shipper is willing to pay for shipping back to their country. I would assume they'd have to pay the fees and taxes too. Have several getting ready to go to overgoods because of no response.

Maybe they'll make a deal once it goes to overgoods.

Yes, the shipper would be responsible for any fees the ORIGIN country might assign to the return shipment. Many times, the fees outweigh the value of the contents so the package is abandoned in the US and then eventually ends up in overgoods.

I would have assumed that they'd have to pay all fees incurred. I wouldn't think there'd be too much for packages being returned, unopened. Go figure.

Hi everyone, my name is Alyona. I hope it’s okay for me to post here, and I apologize if this forum is meant only for UPS employees. I’m reaching out because I’m having a difficult time resolving an issue with a package sent to me from Ukraine by my sister and parents.
They sent me a package with traditional Ukrainian embroidered dresses. Unfortunately, the value of the package was incorrectly declared by the sender in Ukraine as $799, when in reality, the contents are worth about $350 to $400. Because of this incorrect valuation, UPS is now asking me to pay a COD (Cash on Delivery) fee of $210, which is extremely high.
I’ve been trying to resolve this for over a month now. I’ve emailed UPS multiple times and called various support numbers, but I haven’t received a clear response or solution. Some representatives say I must pay the fee, while others say they will look into it, but then I never hear back.
I’m feeling quite frustrated and unsure of what to do next. If anyone has advice or suggestions on how to handle this situation, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for reading and for any help you can provide!
It's withheld by Vladimir Putin.
