CIR abuse was probably my worst habit for a while, but I broke it for good a couple years ago. In fact, it was actually Dave and Greg in these videos that helped me understand why cutting corners with that feature is such a bad idea. Well, that and our center manager basically threatening the entire center one morning at PCM over it. I will say though, the increasing lack of customer cooperation has gotten incredibly frustrating of late. It gets really old being repeatedly met with this look of fear, panic, and in some cases outright hostility any time I ask for a last name. I thankfully have my own route now so I know most of their names, but with 70+ businesses to deliver to every day, there will inevitably be some new faces. It seems to particularly be an issue with younger customers. Even politely explaining that it’s company policy doesn’t always work.

As for signatures, there’s a reason why I refuse to touch talking doorbells. I will knock loudly and give the customer a chance to answer the door, but I’m not gonna stand there and talk into a doorbell like an idiot. I got awfully sick of hearing, “Hello can you hear me? Hello can you hear me? Hello? Hello? Can you hear me? Can you hear me?”

“Can you just leave it there?” No
“Can you give it to my neighbor?” It’s wine, so no.
“Can you come back later?” No
“Can you leave your phone number so I can call you when I get home?” Also no.

Maybe RoswellHub should do their next video just on Ring doorbells

Yep, I don’t touch those doorbells. I’ll knock on the door.

I used to amuse myself by pretending that I didn't hear them ring doorbells while filling out the delivery notice.

It still boggles my mind why so many people have this fear of send agains?

Why not just bring the package back if all the criteria is not met for delivery?

Some drivers are So afraid of a send again they’ll do anything to get rid of that package, even something that might cost them their job.

For a while I was on a route in a bad area that was no DR. I had a ton of send agains. They had me in the office to complain about it and all I could say it is what it is. I had about 3 times as many as their "official" number allowed. They were just mad it made the whole centers numbers look worse. Not my problem.
