Nobody wants to put their time in anymore.Yep.
The smaller buildings don't see the offer of 22.3 jobs.... because they don't have back-to-back shifts.
Very few red circle PT (prior to 1982) will ever see a maxed out PT pension. Many took a 22.3 job after the '97 strike and had to start over with the FT pension. I can only think of a handful of red circle that have retired with a 30 or 35 year pension in my building.True but they have to be more than minimum wage jobs…no matter if they have a pension or not we can’t be competing against Mc Donald’s and Taco Bell for workers. I would bet that less than 10% of the part time workforce here ever would see a pension….or has collected a pension over the years.
Or wait for a FT Porter or Car Washer job. $80k/yr for a 40 hour week. There isn't always full-time jobs available.
But if you get a full time inside Job it will give you the pension credits and the seniority that you need until you have a chance to go out driving.
People forget this is a package delivery company and we need drivers
Most have to be in their 60’s and 70’s….it’s like the ww2 soldiers, won’t be around much longer.Very few red circle PT (prior to 1982) will ever see a maxed out PT pension. Cracker Barrel….hostessWaffle House
TTKU
Well if you don't want full time 40 years ago you would have enough seniority to get a porter job.Or wait for a FT Porter or Car Washer job. $80k/yr for a 40 hour week.
Not everywhere has porter jobs…should have been a strike issue this time around…every location uses porters or we walk.Well if you don't want full time 40 years ago you would have enough seniority to get a porter job.
More like Vietnam veterans. RPCD will be next to become extinct in less time. Most have to be in their 60’s and 70’s….it’s like the ww2 soldiers, won’t be around much longer.
We don't have them here either. Not everywhere has porter jobs…should have been a strike issue this time around…every location uses porters or we walk.
No part-time car washes will be gone full-time rpcs will be watching their own vehicles because they overtime will be cheaper than paying your benefitsMore like Vietnam veterans. RPCD will be next to become extinct in less time.
We’ll see about that…you heard Prez O’Brien…22.4 are a strike issue.More like Vietnam veterans. RPCD will be next to become extinct in less time.
Actually you are correct. I know of several FT Porters and car washers that have less company seniority than I. I think I would have left well before having the opportunity to bid on either jobs. I enjoy what I do.Well if you don't want full time 40 years ago you would have enough seniority to get a porter job.
Would you not enjoy the full-time pension?Actually you are correct. I know of several FT Porters and car washers that have less company seniority than I. I think I would have left well before having the opportunity to bid on either jobs. I enjoy what I do.

Delivery drivers have been washing their own trucks for the last 25 years in my building. The only reason the company keeps me around is because the FT car washers think of the job as a retirement job just like the Porters. $80k/yr to sweep the floor and empty the trash cans and clean the toilets. Some are also collecting Social Security and a few are also collecting their pension. No part-time car washes will be gone full-time rpcs will be watching their own vehicles because they overtime will be cheaper than paying your benefits
Some of those back pay checks were ridiculous…company wasn’t very happy about those…Yep.
They won backdated full-time seniority and backpay.
And.... a newly created full-time job.
But it's a full-time job and they are not taking work away from anyone elseDelivery drivers have been washing their own trucks for the last 25 years in my building. I have been done pretty well with what I have. My wife will be well taken care of after I am gone. Better than a lot of FT with multiple ex wives. LOLWould you not enjoy the full-time pension?
