O'Brien criticized for upcoming speech

I didn't hear him say a singe thing that could be construed as an endorsement for Trump or the Republican party in that speech?

He simply seized the opportunity provided on that grand stage to scold both parties and Corporate America and good for him (and us).
He spoke to Republicans.

How dare he!

100% agree he was there to do the job he was voted to do. Represent union members and their issues and labor in general. He said some pretty uncomfortable things to some of the people that crowd in my opinion.

Hello, he's there at the Republican convention.

You may not like it, but him being there says it all, sort of like Pee Wee Reese putting his arm around Jackie Robinson. We saw it, we get it.
So, when he speaks at the DNC too, what is he doing then???

Sean O'Brien said nothing that Trump, the Republican Party or his donors wanted to hear,
....nor what they want their supporters to hear.

How about you invite Sean to give a pension speech at your next family event? :wink-very:
It will play out about the same.

Commenting on Tough Guy speaking at the GOP convention...

“It legitimizes Donald Trump in the eyes of workers,” Tom L, a retired Teamsters leader who ran for union president against Jimmy Hoffa Jr.

I guarantee you they did not want to hear about corporate greed, corporate bailouts, workers rights, workers organizing, higher wages, And generally working people getting more say and more rights in their workplace.
And I guarantee you the elites in the DNC won’t wanna hear it either. They will smile and nod and pretend they’re on our side.

Oh good must’ve gotten that on Twitter from someone who’s been perfectly happy with a union that is stuck where it’s at without legislation to help us move forward.

Small minded people will have small paychecks eventually.

Donald Trump is only going to be around four more years in the political arena no matter what happens in November.
We are fighting for the next 30 years of Teamsters and beyond.

Come on Tom Leed ham ran against Jimmy Hoffa Junior like three times and didn’t get a whiff of the top spot.

He gave a speech criticizing Republican policies.

Saying one party is the only party that is our friend is only true if we never extend our hand and friendship first.
I would say the last 60 years of saying one party is our friend hasn’t been very productive for unions and there growth. We are only merely surviving. at worst it doesn’t work. At best we get a seat at both parties table.

Swamp policies that go across the aisle. Anyone with TDS will never see that. The swamp only cares about itself. Will Country Club GOP members like it, no way, same as elite Dems, they are deathly afraid of losing power and care little about regular working folk. Trees, tranny's, illegal's yes, you the regular working guy/gal not so much.
