I’m not advocating going there, but, to be fair, that used to be the norm, and the world didn’t implode...
The rich were still rich, the economy did just fine, industry lumbered along at a brisk pace, etc.
Granted, we were coming off WWII, where of course, as the winner, and with Europe destroyed, we were set up to be the most winningest country evah!
Sure, things are different now, but my guess is we could swing the pendulum back towards some kind of parity.
