Ocasio-Cortez and the “socialist” left

It will be fine

“This is more fake news on a story that has been terribly reported from day one,” she wrote in an email to the Courier-Journal. “This is a private, world-renowned hospital separate from any system, and people come from around the world to pay cash for their services.”

Rand Paul Heading To Canada, Land Of Universal Health Care, For Surgery

The title of the article isn't misleading at all. :teethy:
Sorry, we’ve been hearing from republicans forever that universal health insurance can never produce results. There’s no way a private health provider would ever open a clinic in a socialized healthcare system. It can’t happen, Rand Paul told me so.

It’s actually not fake news. Shouldice Hernia Hospital is privately managed but publicly funded.

From the linked article:

“Shouldice Hernia Hospital markets itself as a “global leader” in hernia repair, according to its website. It’s privately owned, but “almost all of its work” is done under contract with the Ontario government, according to the Globe and Mail, and it accepts Ontario’s Hospital Insurance Plan, which is part of the nation’s public health care system, the Courier-Journal reported.”

Paul is paying out of pocket since he’s not covered by the Canadian public healthcare system. But Rene Boucher, the neighbor who attacked him, will be paying it all back.

Privately managed. Vast majority of patients covered by Canada’s single payer plan.

Tell me more?
not sure if your being serious but when you go to a physician, you give them your govt services card. they bill it to the govt. if theres something to pay out of pocket, then hopefully your work insurance will cover it or maybe the govt will cover it based on your income.

Nothing wrong with going to a privately managed hospital that does the best work on hernias if you can. If any of you had the choice, you would do it too.

Now let that sink in beyond your tribal sensationalism. :raspberry:

He's doing it because the neighbor who assaulted him is paying for. I'd bet he'd have it done here if it was
