Your state and local governments won't allow controlled burns of underbrush. Your governor removed 4 dams to preserve the Delta Smelt fish and improve salmon runs. The last two years, '22-'23, were wetter than normal increasing forest underbrush in the Santa Monica mountains. Then this last year was extra dry. Result was a huge amount of fuel and not enough water to fight it. Hundreds of hydrants didn't have water. No water in reservoirs cause the rivers were allowed to run into the ocean. We see the result.
There are controlled burns throughout the state every year. You really have no clue what you are talking about. The hydrants had a lack of pressure not water due to so many fires at once. There are thousands of firefighters fighting these fires and you just want to politicize a natural disaster.
These LA fires are driven by hurricane force winds just like Lahaina. No controlled burns or working fire hydrants would stop this disaster from happening.
The Pacific Palisades fire is 0% contained and now almost 16,000 acres. There was a huge amount of underbrush that fueled the fire and there weren't controlled burns. And no water in about 200 hydrants and no water in reservoirs because the rivers are being allowed to run out to the ocean. You're in denial.
If they had cleared the underbrush there would have been a lot less fire. And without water to fight them we see the result.

P.S. The Maui fire was not controlled with water because the guy running the water system said the water belonged to the Native Hawaiian farmers and he refused to divert the water to the town until he was finally ordered to. By then too late.
