Ok California. Now what?

CA owns 2% of millions of acres of forests in CA. The rest is as almost all Federal. I don't care what Trump said, he's a blowhard liar and doesn't have clue of what he's talking about.
We aren't talking about millions of acres of forests all over California. It's about the forest land that's in close proximity to major metro areas.

Heard yesterday that several years ago the power company you have out there attempted to replace on forest land by Pacific Palisades 100 year old wooden power poles with metal ones that were wind and fire resistant. They were several days into the project when they were shut down in court by environmentalists because they were trampling some kind of protected plant. Live wires being blown down by high winds could have been a cause of that fire. Just speculating of course.

They're usually getting heavy rains and mudslides around this time. its a little delayed right now.

Yes. But it's a La Nina this year. But don't worry. That chicken will come home to roost.

When the mudslides happened in Montecito (another enclave of rich liberals) a few years ago, it was amazingly devastating.

Those on the Right like to point out that California's environmental laws sometimes cause more harm than good.

But one way or another someday no matter what, the Palisades fire was absolutely going to happen.

It was going to happen so they should have been more prepared to control it as much as possible. Which they absolutely failed to do.
